Great weekend of fishing! Weather improved last week and water temp rose to 58 degrees. We ran 2 trips over the weekend with limits caught both days.
Saturday, we ran our Yozuri crankbait program East of South Bass Island. 55’ to 75’ back at 1.7 knts was the best. Yozuri Pooh Bear Purple again caught the biggest fish. This crank has caught the biggest fish each trip it has been out.
Sunday, with the strong S/SW winds and predicted increase along with weather kept us close to shore just off Lakeside. We switch our program to TruTrip 40’s with small Michigan Stinger spoons and it ROCKED! Quick limits for our crew that allowed us to easily beat the weather in the afternoon. Ran the TruTrip 40’s at 35’ back in 24 fow at 1.8knts.
Fishing will now be rock solid for weeks to months to come as we start to transition in warmer water and summer patterns. Look for spoons, worm harnesses, and drift/cast to produce. Any way you prefer to catch walleye will work! We have 3 trips this upcoming holiday weekend so look for reports next week.
Happy Memorial Day and thank you to all that paid the ultimate sacrifice! We honor you and appreciate your service.
Good Fishing and Be Safe!
